Details

The Magnus VT-4000 Tripod System with Fluid Head is a stable, sturdy video tripod made from anodized aluminum that can support loads up to 8.8 lb. Overall, this tripod offers many features usually only found on more expensive models. The two-way fluid head provides smooth operation, and features a half-ball mount with a diameter of 65mm, with left and right pan bar mounts. It comes supplied with one pan bar. In addition, unlike most other heads in its class, all the head controls are positioned on the left side of the head, which leaves your right hand free for the panning handle. The VT-4000 tripod system weighs 7.9 lb.

Its 2-stage leg design allows you to adjust the height of the tripod from 27.6" to 59". A middle spreader and passive counterbalance provide enhanced stability to the entire system. The VT-4000 also has separate pan and tilt locks, and a bubble level for precision leveling. The fixed counter-balance spring incorporated in the head will help with smoother tilt movements.

Its provided quick release plate features a standard 1/4"-20 mounting screw with a video pin, and has a sliding range of +20/-25mm - to enable travel capabilities - essential in balancing uneven configurations. The head's tilt angle is adjustable from +90° to -60°.

  1. solid tripod

    Rating:

I often shoot at events in large halls so I needed a tripod with a smooth tilt and pan. I was really surprised that this was so cheap but I have bought Magnus and been extremely satisfied so I decided to try it. The only thing I would change is extend the height a bit but overall its not heavy so it is easy to carry the fluid head is very smooth and the locks for a static shot while panning or tilting are really secure. Overall the construction is lightweight and durable. This is an extraordinary deal!

  2. Best Tripod

    Rating:

The VT-400 functions as a mid-high level fluid head tripod but is priced at a quarter that price! First to debunk the myth: 8lbs is LIGHT for a sturdy fluid head tripod. I saw some reviews suggesting the weight of this tripod was its only flaw and that is the silliest complaint I ever heard. I was concerned it wouldn't be heavy enough to be sturdy and keep my camera steady. I had nothing to worry about, I love using this tripod, It is heavy and sturyd enough to make my pans steady and straight with no waver. I got some incredible shots the fluid head is soo smooth the tilt/pan is great, and they have locks too to maintain stediness for static shots. Mounting the camera is easy and intuitive with a durable base plate and associated plate on top of tripod securing the camera. I set it without using instructions and figured it out in under 30 seconds. The camera can be slid back and forth on the top plate in order to center its gravity and will stay secure because it gets locked in.

The entire camera sits on a ball joint that can be tilted in all directions so even if the tripod is sitting on an uneven surface I can focus on any point steadily. There is also a standard leveler which helps even setup's or determing the angle when you have to/ want to set up on an uneven slope. The legs have two levels and height is adjustable and the bottom is ridged for grip. In short, it is steady, sturdy, and "fully loaded" I cannot get over how well priced this tripod is and I recommend it to both novices and professionals.
